I believe that instant film has real artistic value. It's a stream-of-conscuousness format that prioritizes spontaneity, similar to Buddhist calligraphy or Kerouac's prose. A humanist art form, where the imperfections become an integral part of the piece, embedded in the relationship between model, photographer, and camera.
Outside of taking polaroids, I am a filmmaker and writer doing his best to keep Austin, TX a place that celebrates the abnormal. I hail from Minnesota originally, and have been with my wife for ten years (we met in English class). I enjoy going to see movies at Austin Film Society, reading Moby Dick, and swimming at Barton Springs
